Popular Tanzanian rapper Chidi Benz has been admitted to rehab for drug addiction. The Dar es Salaam Stand Up hit maker whose crafty rap bars earned him fans across East Africa was reportedly checked in at the Life and Hope Rehabilitation in Bagamoyo by Diamond Platnum’s manager Babutale.
In an Instagram video, Babutale states that they arrived safely in Bagamoyo and that he hopes God helps Chidi Benz. The caption accompanying the short clip read:
“Hatimae mwana amekubari kukaa Soba ila anasisitiza wana mje kumtembelea kumpa hope na kuleta mapokopoko manjari. Mungu bariki hii safari ya matumaini” (He has accepted stay remain sober but insists that you come to visit. God bless this journey of hope).
This is not the first that a popular musician from Tanzania is facing drug abuse and addiction problems.
Songstress Ray C behind the Sogea Sogea banger was in a similar state and it took the intervention of former president Jakaya Kikwete to take her for rehab.
We wish Benz a smooth road to recovery.
