Jean Ojiro, a fashion model and digital creator, was crowned Miss Universe Kenya 2026 on July 25. She will represent Kenya at the 75th Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico after emerging top among 15 finalists. [Edward Kiplimo, Standard]

In an article published on The Standard website on July 27, 2026, titled ‘Known for prowess in witchcraft and ‘hard’ faces, Kisii County surprisingly produces a Miss Universe,’ we inadvertently used an erroneous headline that accompanied our story about the crowning of Miss Universe Kenya 2026, Jean Ojiro. We take this early opportunity to correct this inadvertent error and apologise to our readers, Jean Ojiro and the Miss Universe Kenya organisation for any embarrassment or inconvenience this may have caused. The headline has since been corrected
