Plans to fully bring back co-curriculum activities in schools is welcome for learners across the country.

Co-curriculum activities were suspended at the height of Covid-19 in 2020, but the Ministry of Education allowed gradual resumption of activities in schools in November 2022. However, there have been no major competitions.

But with the announcement that the Kenya Music Festival and even sports activities are set to resume fully, learners have a reason to celebrate.

Though Covid-19 is still a threat, we have now, by and large, learnt how to live with it. Life have has gone almost back to normal in all other spheres of life. It should not be different for schools.

Let the children have fun. But let us keep our eyes open to avoid a surge in cases of Covid-19 in schools.
