'Go-slows' by police open door to anarchy

The police have received plenty of condemnation for the sudden increase in extra judicial killings by members of the force.

Surprisingly, and in equal measure, unscientific polls carried in sections the media appear to suggest that a significant number of the public see nothing wrong with a police officer shooting down a suspected gangster in cold blood, as happened three weeks ago on Lang’ata road in Nairobi. The voices of civil rights group are failing to strike a chord with ordinary Kenyans who feel ambushed by the rise in violent robberies across the country, but mostly in Nairobi.
