Embu Governor Martin Wambora has differed with three local MPs over classification of a 100km ring road.

The governor maintains that the road is Class D and under the county government but the leaders say it was recently gazetted as Class C under the national government.

Senator Lenny Kivuti and MPs John Muchiri (Manyatta), Muriuki Njagagua (Mbeere North), and Cecily Mbarire (Runyenjes) have questioned why the governor wants to spend Sh3 billion on the road, which the national government plans to tarmac.

The county government has already started tarmacking a 12.2km stretch of Embu-Kibugu road at a cost of Sh300 million. "I have consulted and discovered the national government has not even tendered for the road," Wambora said.
