MP calls for ethnic balance in state jobs

Machakos,Kenya: The Jubilee government has been urged to ensure ethnic inclusion in public appointments.

Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi said all Kenyans have a right to be employed in the civil service.

“I am pleading with the Jubilee government which I support to ensure inclusion in the civil service to make every Kenyan feel part of the Government’’ he said.

Mr Mwangangi said this at Sofia market in his constituency when the commissioned two water projects funded by the area’s CDF kitty.

Devolved system

He said although the country had shifted to the devolved system of government, all Kenyans were still entitled to job opportunities in the national government.

The MP urged the Kamba community to support the Uhuru administration to realise development in the region.

“We cannot wedge a political war against a Government that we expect to benefit from it,’’ he said.

He, however, dismissed claims that he had been hired to push the Jubilee agenda in the area.

“I went to the Parliament through the Muungano Party and I have no intentions of ditching,’’ he said.
