Isiolo, Kenya: A woman was recently sentenced to 20 years in jail by an Isiolo court for defiling a minor boy.

Eunice Kawira, 30, was found guilty of defiling a 15-year-old boy (name withheld) on June 10, this year at Mwangaza area in Isiolo Township.

The court heard that on the said date, the victim was heading to school at around 11.00am when Kawira called him to her house to help fix her broken radio. It was then that she held him and forced him to get intimate with her.

The victim’s brother (not named) said that he got suspicious of his brother’s long stay at Kawira’s house and went to look for him.

He told the court that Kawira had locked the house from inside and upon asking her to let his brother go for they were getting late for school, she refused and claimed that his brother was not in the house.

He said he peeped through the window and saw Kawira in act with his brother which made him to raise alarm.

Kawira was then arrested and taken to Isiolo police station by the neighbours who responded to the alarm.

Acting principal magistrate Joan Irura passed the judgement saying the court had established beyond any doubt that Kawira had intentionally caused her penetration by the victim.

Kawira remained composed as the judgement was being read but broke down and sobbed loudly as she was escorted from the court room by police officers.
