Gilgil,Kenya: There was drama along the Naivasha-Nakuru road after a group of students collapsed after they were allegedly attacked by evil spirits.

The students from Kajembe High School in Mombasa were on their way back to the Coastal town from Nakuru when the incident occurred.

The students had attended the just concluded national music festivals when the spirits attacked them as they passed Gilgil town.

This forced their driver to stop the bus which had 52 passengers near Kambi Somali center as the students wailed and collapsed on the ground.

Tens of members of the public rushed to the scene to witness the rare incident as pastors from Gilgil were called to intervene through prayers.

According to a witness Janet Wambui, the students claimed that the devil had possessed them and they could no longer board the bus.

Wambui added that only girls were affected as the boys and members of the public watched from distance.

“The girls were screaming saying that someone was trying to strangle them while others collapsed wriggling on the ground,” she said.

One of the affected girls screamed that she could not board the bus as it would be involved in an accident killing all of them.

The situation was saved by Gilgil OCPD Sera Koki who together with religious leaders intervened and counseled the traumatised students.

The police boss took the students away from the public glare to a quiet area where they were prayed for.

Koki confirmed the incident saying that 12 of the 52 students were affected by the Thursday morning incident.

She attributed the incident to the Murang’a school bus accident which claimed two lives, a pupil and a driver.
