Wife snatcher nabbed in lodging

By CHARLES NG’ENO

A notorious wife snatcher in Mulot who recently survived an attack after getting caught with another man’s wife was last week found in a lodging with yet another married woman.

According to her husband, his wife deserted him after incessant complains that he was unable to provide for the family.

“I got tired of her pestering and nagging. She began complaining that I was unable to meet her demands yet we had not even got a child,” said the cuckolded man.

One evening the husband, who is a driver of a matatu plying the Bomet-Narok route arrived home to an empty house. He frantically tried to call his wife but her phone had been switched off.

Guesthouse

Days later it emerged that the woman had been convinced by her secret lover to move out so that meeting each other could be easier.

On this particular day, her husband decided not to go to work but to hang around Mulot market with the intention of wooing her back home.

At around 3pm, he saw her with the said man on a boda boda taxi. The two, oblivious of the husband’s presence, rode towards the direction of a guesthouse on the outskirts of the town.

Not to be beaten, the husband accompanied by two friends armed themselves and decided to trail the two. On arrival at the joint, they decided to first check the bar. But they only found the boda boda cyclist quenching his thirst with a beer. Asked where the two were, the cyclist said he didn’t know.

Slaps

His unwillingness to cooperate earned him a few slaps and kicks. The commotion alerted the two lovebirds and the man dashed to the bar to save his friend as the woman ran out through a back door.

Unluckily for her, police officers on patrol who saw her dash out stopped her, thinking that she had stolen from her client, given the commotion they could hear at the bar.

Mulot Administration Police Chief Inspector Francis Juma told Crazy Monday that had the police not arrived in time, the situation would have been tragic.

When asked what he planned to do with his wife, the man said he needed time to think things over. The wife snatcher left with the officers  to Bomet Police Station.
