Please help trace our daughter, kin in distress plead

24-year-old Susan Njoki went missing under unclear circumstances nearly two weeks ago .

A family in Jordan Estate in Njoro, Nakuru County is in distress after their 24-year-old daughter went missing under unclear circumstances nearly two weeks ago.

Susan Njoki  a graduate from Multimedia University was last seen in Nairobi’s CBD on December 30 last year. Her mother Hellen Ngige, said Njoki has been working with PR firm Treasure Communication Ltd. “Njoki came home for Christmas and went back to work on December 27. This was after she received a call telling her to report back to work earlier than she had planned,” said Hellen.

While this was the last time the family set their eyes on their second born child, Njoki called her mother that night confirming that she arrived at her residence in Ongata Rongai safely.

Hellen however got concerned after she remained silent between then and January 2, prompting the family to call her phone which they learnt had been off since two days earlier. According to her workmates who have spoken to her mother, they worked for three days until December 30 when they last saw and heard from her. “One of her colleagues told me they worked until 11pm. They parted in town saying she was to spend the night at a friend’s place in Ruiru,” said Hellen.

After reaching out to her would-be host, Hellen found out that her daughter was not only unreachable by phone but was also missing and never made it to the house she was to spend the night.

“I sent her elder brother to check on her at her house but she was not there. No one had accessed it for days,” she said.

According to the female friend, she last heard from Njoki few minutes past midnight on that day when she confirmed that she had boarded a Ruiru-bound bus after which her phone went off.

The family made a report of a missing person on January 8 under OB number 64/08/01/2019 at Ongata Rongai Police station.

“The police told us to get back to the station to get a progress report on the matter but nothing has come forth. We have not had good sleep since then. Her two brothers and cousin have been in the city looking for her in vain,” said Hellen.

Her employer says Njoki never collected her pay. “She did not collect her December pay like her colleagues did. Her workmates thought she had gone back home. No one knows where she went or what happened to her,” said Hellen. The family pleads with anyone with information on her whereabouts to report to the police.
