The essence of christianity

I have observed an evil under the sun: Coreligionists profaning Godhood in the name of God. Sharing Bible verses, religiously attending church services and making public display of the things that embellish yet deep inside void of the one thing that makes Christly.
Here is the thing: There are those things that we cherish: prophecy, speaking in tongues, knowledge of the Bible, and other extra-biblical references. The true witness declares of them:
1 Corinthians 13:8New International Version (NIV)
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
The foundation upon which Christendom is built is Love. The Bible declares God is Love. He who loves not does not know God (1 John 4:8)
And this Love is not something that you merely profess: It must be declared. It must be sincere. Romans 12:9 Simply declares "Don't just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good."
In Micah 6:8 We read of what is good;8
He has told you, O man, what is good;and what does the Lord require of youbut to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Hosea 6:6 Reveals to us the desire of God He says " I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings.
This is the essence of Christianity To love sincerely.

Finally, I bid us according to Mathew 9:13 Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’
