National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso has proposed the return of the Senate Bill calling for the setting up of County Development Boards.

Dr Laboso, who recently won the Jubilee Party ticket to run for the Bomet governorship said for an all-inclusive leadership, the bill famously known as Sang Bill should be brought back.

"My leadership has always been consultative and moving forward to the county government after next election will be more consultative and to aid this, then we must have a board bringing all leaders together," she said.

Speaking at Sotik sports ground during thanksgiving prayers at the weekend after her nomination, Laboso said a one-man show kind of leadership was not good for the people.

"I discourage leadership where one person calls the shots in all corners. The talents we have must be given a chance and that I can guarantee you," said the Sotik MP.

The bill tabled in the Senate by Nandi Senator Stephen Sang proposing a county development board was opposed by governors.

Governors said the bill aimed at belittling their role as county chiefs.

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, who was then the chairman at the Council of Governors, led an onslaught against the bill, saying it would make it difficult for governors to implement their pledges.
