DROUGHT MITIGATION

News scientist magazine, a respected American science magazine has hinted that five people were reported virus-free after undergoing HIV treatment.

There were thirteen participants who took part in the research. Both of them had more than six-month infection. Above all, they all had taken ARVs for three years averagely.

It was published that the scientist injected the participants who were HIV positive with a series of vaccine and they stopped taking ARVS.

According to them after two weeks the virus was still found in eight of the patients, but the other five went for more than 28 weeks without having to restart their treatment.

They also said that the current method suppresses the viruses before the patients are introduced to the vaccine that is able to eliminate the HIV cells hence treating the person.

They termed this as a functional cure because the vaccine trains the body system to control the disease without needing ARV medication.

According to the research, the five patients were free of HIV within a period of seven months after the treatment.

If this research is something to go by then it means that there is hope for over 37 million people infected with HIV Aids globally.

This comes after 30 years quest by scientist to find a cure for HIV.It will be a very big breakthrough in the world of medicine.
