Technical University of Mombasa acting Vice Chancellor Laila Abubakar on Monday informed a court that the institution never dismissed its former vice chancellor, Joseph Mwatellah.
Prof Abubakar told Mombasa Industrial Court judge Onesmus Makau that there was no letter from the university terminating Prof Mwatelah's contract.
Mwatelah is challenging his dismissal from the university earlier this year on the grounds that he was illegally sacked by Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i. He applied to be reinstated as VC on Monday.
