Kalembe Ndile wants IEBC to deal with Wetangula over bribery claims

MACHAKOS, KENYA: The Independent Party leader Kalembe Ndile has called upon the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to take stun action against Ford Kenya leader and senate minority leader Moses Wetangula over allegations of bribery charges facing the Cord Co-principal.

Addressing the media in Machakos,  Kalembe stated that Wetangula should stop causing animosity in Bungoma County by threatening to relocate Kenyans from other tribes who reside in Bungoma County.

Kalembe added that Wetangula should carry his own cross and should desist from including the Luhya community in his woes.

“I want to tell Wetangula that he was not acting on behalf of the community when he was getting involved in bribery and he should not hide in community. Let him carry his own cross. Therefore if IEBC will not issue stun action against Wetangula then we will be left to see that it is carrying out its mandate selectively.”Kalembe said

The former Kibwezi MP also added that if IEBC will not remove Wetangula from the voters register then the fight against impunity in the country will never be won.

Kalembe also wants the government to probe allegations that the Bungoma senator was bribed by the British American Tobacco (BAT) to shoot down bills on cigarette regulations in the country.

He hit out at the Cord Coalition leadership accusing them of preaching water and drinking wine in the war against corruption in the country.

“I find it funny when the opposition points out that the government of the day is corrupt yet Jesus said that, let one who has not sinned be the first to throw a stone. The opposition is riddled with a lot of sins than the government of the day. So we call upon the government to investigate these allegations.” he added

He called upon IEBC and registrar of political parties to also take stun action against the Wiper party over the chaos adding that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka should not have allowed that kind of chaos to take place in his presence.

“It is very bad for a leader who is aiming for Presidency to be a bully, what will happen when he takes up that seat. I was once a victim of such chaos in Mwingi when the Wiper leader did not want me there and mobilized his goons to chase me away but I left it all to God.”Kalembe said.
