A 65-year-old man who sexually abused four minors in Kinangop, Nyandarua County, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Naivasha court.

John Ndungu was stunned after the court handed him a life sentence in two counts and a 20-year jail term for each of the other two counts.

Ndungu, a farmer,  had been charged before Naivasha resident magistrate Esther Boke for abusing three boys and a girl aged between nine and 12 on various dates between April and June 2011.

On the first count of defiling the first complainant, Ndungu was handed a life term sentence while the magistrate gave him a 20-year sentence on the second count of defiling the second complainant. He was also sentenced to 20 years in prison for defiling the third complainant and another life imprisonment for the fourth count.

The prosecution told the court the accused lured the pupils into his house with food.
