Kilifi ODM leaders want security beefed up ahead of by-elections

ODM leaders want the government to beef up security during campaigns ahead of three by-elections slated for December 15 to prevent violence.

County ODM youth leader Samir Nyundo expressed fears that those behind last weekend's Kenol violence in Murang'a could be planning more chaos during campaigns in Dabaso, Msambweni and Taita Taveta.

He said the Murang'a chaos reminded them of the Ganda ward by-election violence that led to the death of an ODM supporter.

He said locals are eager to see action being taken against perpetrators of chaos.

"We want to see those behind the killing of Ngumbao Jola in Ganda ward being arrested and charged so as to deter others who may be planning evil,” he said.
