A father who sired two children with her 16-year-old daughter in Garsen was jailed for 30 years without an option of a fine.

Ndaro Katana appeared before the Malindi Resident Magistrate Muthoni Njagi and pleaded guilty to the defilement charge.

The prosecution led by Chief Inspector Jimmy Kimaro told the court that on diverse dates between January 2009 and November last year at Katsangani village in Tana Delta District, Tana River County the accused defiled her daughter and impregnated her twice.

Mr Kimaro said the matter was reported to police by Ms Joy Muthoni a director of an NGO, Fact Action Completion and Transformation, which led to arrest of the man.

Katana told the court he had two wives and each had about ten children who depend on him.

“I plead before this court for pardon as all my family members depend on me and they would suffer if I am jailed,” he told the magistrate.

Ms Njagi said the offence was serious and required a stiff sentence.
