University student in court for sending hate message

Kirinyaga, Kenya: A student from Kirinyaga University College has been arraigned in Court for allegedly sending a hate message to a technician at the institution.

Isaiah Kamau Kagwima, who is already on a three year suspension, was charged that on October 30 this year within Kutus Township, he sent the hate message through his mobile phone to Joseph Kahiga Mwaniki, an employee of the College.

Kagwima has however through his lawyer Magee Wamagee denied he committed the offence.

Acting Kerugoya Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot ordered that the student be released on a Sh 5,000 cash bail until December 16 when his case will come up for hearing .

The accused, who is among ten suspended students from the college over riots.
