Airtel faces Sh5.5 million suit

Airtel managing director has been ordered to appear before a Nakuru court to face charges of failing to pay more than Sh5.5 million advertising fees to Municipal Council of Nakuru.

Resident Magistrate Elizabeth Tanui directed the defence to produce Mr Rene Meza in court by the next mention date on April 26.

The magistrate said Meza should appear in court or the council’s Town Clerk Kaio Mbulusi avails sufficient instructions over any negotiations on the payment of the amount to the court prosecutor within seven days.

The magistrate issued the orders after Meza failed to appear in court answer charges of failing to pay the council advertising fees.
