I was arrested in boxers, slapped into my cell – Jakoyo Midiwo narrates

Former Gem Constituency Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, spoke about his mistreatment during his arrest in Kisumu.

Speaking as a panelist on a local Television station, Midiwo narrated his ordeals under police officers who went to arrest him.

He stated that it was his watchman, who came kicking doors, who woke him up.

He explained that he went out with his boxers where he found five police officers roughing up his driver.

“I came out in my boxers, so I said but my driver came in with me, I saw a probox, I saw five police officers there in my home but they are trying to kill my driver”

He narrates that his friend, who he identifies as Omondi came outside and the officer turned his focus to him and quickly ran towards him.

“A friend of mine that we stay with called Omondi appeared and the police started chasing the boy” added Midiwo.

He further said that the lady officer told him that one of the officers who unleashed his wrath on the driver was drunk.

As he digested that statement, he narrates, one of them grabbed his neck and he could not speak.

“Mweshimiwa, you know this guy is very drunk, before I knew, they had grabbed by vocal cord” narrated Midiwo.

Midiwo mentioned that on arrival at the police station, he was continuously slapped and did not realise how he ended up in the police cell.

“In fact, he did not even take me into the cell, he slapped me into the Cell, I was there for three hours before their bosses showed up”.
