The hypocrisy of the Nairobi County Government reveals a lot about our Nation

The Global Entreprenuership summit is programmed to be held at the United Nations office in Nairobi this Saturday on 25th July 2015 but it has inconvenienced everyone in Nairobi.

These few days have been hectic for Kidero’s grass which ought to grow in a couple of hours for Obama’s pleasing. As if to make matters worse, the Nairobi governor, Dr. Kidero has to bear the burden of hosting such a monumental event and create an image for the country.

Heavy trucks are doing rounds into the compound offloading materials purposed for innovators exhibitions. Sniffing dogs accompanied by secret service men from the United States are leaving no stone unturned to ensure maximum security and order. The public has been restricted from walking into prime areas where the US president is expected to enter meaning even taking a quick relieve from your favorite washroom is no go zone.

This setting is surprising to many as we are left wondering with all the beautification, security and other measures espoused, are we not mocking God. What if nature took its course and all the hard work put up is destroyed? What really is security? Does it not entail human security, social security, the environment among others?

About the obvious hypocrisy in the Nairobi County Government and the country at large, we should ensure that we are always on our best "behaviour" and not a last minute rush to be the people we are not.
