Several passengers to Western Kenya were Tuesday stranded in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) for hours.

The over sixty (60) passengers booked travel via the Western Express Coach company, which failed to provide a bus to ferry them to their various destinations.

The travelers, voicing their disappointment and frustration said only one bus was provided, which couldn't cater to the hundreds who showed up.

Passengers who arrived at the company offices along Nairobi's River Road by 6 am and who had paid Sh1,500 bus fare had not left the city by Tuesday, December 27 noon.

Some travelers said they had booked the Coach as early as yesterday.

David Apima, Staff Officer Personnel (SOP) Central Sub-county who spoke to The Standard said that the management of the Western Express was yet to issue a statement on the way forward.

"We have not received an explanation yet or whether the passengers will get a refund. We will not allow this mismanagement to happen," said Apima.
