MP wants 'thorough audit' of shoddy roads

Nairobi, Kenya: Rongai MP Raymond Moi wants the county government to audit roads it commissioned to be built in his constituency.

The MP said the work was shoddy and highlighted the Kamukunji-Nyamamiti project, which he described as incomplete and wanting.

He said residents in the area had difficulty accessing Nakuru town through the 40-kilometre stretch, which he said had been poorly done.

"I demand a thorough audit of this road by the county government. I also want it completed immediately so that service delivery to the people can be smooth and seamlesss," he said.

Raymond said he was negotiating with the Government to have more roads in the constituency tarmacked, with priority going to the Kiptich-Solai and Ol-Rongai Losobil roads.

He was speaking at Chemasis Day Secondary School in Solai where he donated Sh200,000 toward the building of more classrooms yesterday.
