K’Ogalo will be adding another league title to their already swollen trophy cabinet.

After winning the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title with five matches to spare, Gor Mahia are planning to have November 18 as the big day of trophy presentation at Moi stadium in Kisumu.

Confirming the developments, Gor Mahia’s Chief Executive Officer Ludovick Aduda said the club opted for Kisumu since that’s their alternative ground and the most appropriate venue in the absence of Nyayo Stadium.

“Since Nyayo Stadium is under construction, we have Kisumu registered as our alternative match venue and in this case, we thought that is the most suitable venue for the big day,” Aduda told The Standard Sports.

Gor Mahia will be hosting SoNy Sugar in the last match of the season and Aduda is calling on fans to plan for the coronation day and come out in numbers to witness one of the of greatest moments in the club’s history. The CEO urged fans to give the team ample time to enjoy the trophy presentation.

“It will be a big day for the players and technical staffs and we are humbly requesting fans to give them good space and time to enjoy their moment because ahead of the achievement, there were indeed a lot of sacrifices from the team and it will be an important moment in their football career. To give them easy time to take pictures and enjoy with their families if they like will be the most appropriate thing. Fans can join later on after they have had their moments,” he added.

Aduda also called on Football Kenya Federation to grace the moment because federation is the body that that makes what football is or should be in Kenya.

“We would also wish to have the presence of Football Kenya Federation because that’s the epitome of football in Kenya and having the president and federation’s officials gracing the occasion will be significant. We welcome them all and we will appreciate their presence.”

Apart from the contract renewals of their senior players, the club is keen on bolstering the squad ahead of the busy season  where Caf Champions League will be the biggest competition they are targeting  to make a mark and with the recommendation of the technical bench, new face are expected in the team.

“We need depth in our team for future assignments which will be quite involving and for that, we will have about four new local players joining us after the technical bench’s recommended,” noted Aduda.

With the contracts renewals, K’Ogalo will have easy time going into a new season because there will be no players’ departures like have been witnessed in the past.

Key players have extended their stay at the club and that’s a big plus to a team set for a big stage competition.
