Drama as son-in-law meets mother-in-law in lodging

Revellers at a popular restaurant and lodging in Kericho County watched free drama as a man and the mother-in-law busted each other at a popular lodging.

The shocking revelation, which occurred last Friday in the evening left onlookers dumbfounded.

Drama unfolded when a 35-year-old man, who works in the nearby tea factory, and his mother-in-law — in her early 50s and who is also a teacher in a private school in Letien — met in the house of sin.

On that fateful day, it is alleged that teacher had lied to her elderly husband who runs a wholesale shop that she was attending a teachers meeting in Kericho town, incidentally where her son-in-law also works.

Lovey-dovey

The son-in-law was apparently the first to arrive with his lover and disappeared in one of the rooms around 5pm after a few drinks. A few minutes later, the mother-in-law arrived hand-in-hand with a younger man and booked a room not far from where her son-in-law was romping with the lover.

As fate would have it, at around 6pm, the whole town nearly came into a standstill, when a loud explosion was heard from a garage, which happened to be a stone throw away from the popular lodging.

The blast caused panic as lovers rushed out of the rooms’ half-naked, to assess the situation, from the safety of their balconies, as members of public ran helter skelter from the spot. As the public took cover in fear of an Al Shabaab attack, it was discovered that the blast was from an old motor vehicle spraying machine, which had exploded.

As the son-in-law and his lover were busy holding onto each other on the corridor, coincidentally her mother-in-law  also stepped out of the room to check the unfolding drama, only to spot him in shorts and with a girl in tow. Shocked to see each other in the house of sin, they stood rooted, speechless, for few seconds. It was too late for either of them to dash back into the room.

Busted

The mother-in-law gradually gathered courage and boldly confronted the son-in-law, forgetting that her younger lover was waiting in the room too.

Agitated, the mother-in-law accused him of neglecting her daughter at home to sleep around with a ‘prostitute’, forgetting she was also cheating on her husband with a younger man.

“What are you doing here at this time of the day with prostitute yet you left your wife back home,” she thundered, going for the woman hiding behind her son-in-law.

Still shocked, the son-in-law was unable to raise a finger at his mother-in-law and quickly took off from the scene as curious onlookers gathered. And throwing caution to the wind, the two women started a shouting match as patrons from a nearby hotel ran out to watch the drama.

As they shouted at each other a huge crowd cheered them on. Sensing danger, the younger man, who was in room waiting for the cougar mother-in-law, slithered and disappeared among the crowd.

It took the intervention of security to separate the two women.

Well, it is a curse among the Kalenjin for a son-in-law and mother-in-law to meet in such compromising situation. It is feared the worst could happen.
