Kenya Copyright Board and the Anti-Counterfeit Agency (ACA) yesterday signed a partnership to promote Kenyans’ intellectual property rights.

The Memorandum of Understanding guides the two Government agencies on how to share intelligence, conduct joint investigations, verification, inspections and seizure of counterfeit and pirated works and materials.

The board’s Executive Director Edward Sigei and his ACA counterpart Dr John Akoten signed the agreement on behalf of the two agencies.

“We shall work closely in the prosecution of cases that may result from joint investigations, verification, inspection and seizure of counterfeit and pirated works,” said Mr Sigei.
