Water Services PS Fred Segor : Yatta project must be completed this month

Water Services Principal Secretary Fred Segor has directed contractors at the Sh2.2 billion Yatta Dam project in Machakos County to complete rehabilitation works by the end of the month.

The PS reiterated a directive issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta in June during a tour of the 59-kilometre Yatta Dam, Canal Water Supply and Sanitation project. The project is expected to benefit 5,000 farmers once complete.

Though Prof Segor commended the contractors for completing 85 per cent of the works, he insisted they had to complete what is pending by December 31. He also asked other State-contracted firms to observe project timelines to ensure prudent use of public funds.
