Classic Mouldings to train 5,000 artisans for free

Kenya: Classic Mouldings, an interior design and construction services company has rolled out a programme to train artisans on the latest technology.

 The firm will also offer training on trends in interior design furnishings. The move is part of the company’s contribution to spur job creation.

The company aims to train more than 5,000 artisans across the country in the next six months in phase one.

Dubbed Professional Applicators Club, the programme will create a pool of certified artisans that can be relied on in the application of decorative paints.

The manpower enhance capacity in the building of natural stones on floors and walls as well as on installation of cornices and other mouldings. 

“PAC training is free and will be structured leading to certification. Our intention is to transform the beneficiaries to entrepreneurs, this we believe will generate income to them beyond survival,” said Classic Mouldings Chief Executive Officer Moshe Noiman.                                                                                                                                 

“Our promise is to equip them with technical skills to produce inspiring, creative and extraordinary residential and commercial interiors that Classic Mouldings is well known for across the East African region,” added Noiman.

Moshe said the training will be conducted by local staff as well as by experts from Europe, some of whom are world renowned.  This will keep them abreast with the latest technology and trends in interior design.

Chief Guest and Housing Finance Managing Director Mr Frank Ireri said the programme will develop skills and knowledge as an instrument for promoting decent work in the informal economy.
