'Standard’ takes entertainment a notch higher

NAIROBI, KENYA: The Standard Digital Entertainment (SDE) was unveiled in a star-studded event in one of the first such ventures in Kenya.

Attended by big names in the entertainment industry, the Standard Media Group’s entertainment platform was launched at the Sarova Panafric Nairobi on Thursday evening.

Constant trendsetter

Standard Group CEO Sam Shollei introduced the product to the world and assured SDE was committed to bringing only the best in the online showbiz industry.

He pointed out that Standard Group has been a constant trendsetter over the years and SDE was yet another innovation.

Managing Director of Cheki, Carey Eaton and Country Manager of OLX, Peter Ndiang’ui applauded the Standard Group for raising the bar in the world of online entertainment.

Performances were also part of the launch, with DNA of the ‘Maswali Ya Polisi’ hit song electrifying the crowd as they danced and sang along to his hits. Upcoming gospel artist group, Christ Cycoz also impressed as they had everyone chanting to their songs.

Numerous showbiz stars graced the event with Avril, Victoria Kimani, Mr Nice, Marya, Jay-A among others walking the red carpet.

Industry makers were not left behind with Mr Refigah, the CEO of Grandpa Records, and DJ Creme joining in the launch.  Advertisers and corporate companies were also on location to witness the launch. SDE, one of a kind entertainment portal, aims to bring the latest in showbiz news, videos and photos.

By bringing together content from Pulse Magazine, Straightup Live, Tukuza and IZ Vipi television shows, it ensures visitors are in for the ultimate entertainment experience.
