KRA appoints new head of enforcement and border control

NAIROBI: The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has appointed Colonel (rtd) James Wahome Kariuki as a deputy commissioner. Mr Kariuki will also head enforcement and border control in the Customs and Border Control department. The appointment takes effect from February 1. “Kariuki is a career soldier who joins KRA from the Kenya Army where he served latest as a colonel in charge of operations at the Kenya Defence Forces headquarters,” KRA said in a press statement. Kariuki began his career as an airforce pilot, rising to become officer commanding F5 Squadron in 1996. He moved up the ranks to become Colonel.
