MP claims he forced his way to State lodge

An MP caused a stir at the Nyanza PC’s offices after he sought permission to enter Kisumu State Lodge to inspect its status.

Nyando MP Fred Outa reportedly went to PC Paul Olando’s office early this week and demanded permission to visit State House, The Standard on Saturday has learnt.

The MP shocked the PC’s secretaries who wondered what he wanted at the State Lodge, normally reserved for use by the Head of State and State guests.

Stunned by the MP’s insistence, the secretaries called the PC’s personal assistant Wensley Koech who rejected the request.

"He was not a State guest, so we could not allow him. What was he going to do there yet there was no eminent personality to see or visit," Koech posed when asked for comment.

For one to enter State House, he must seek permission from the Minister for Internal Security and the Police Commissioner clearly stating reasons for the visit.

Reached on telephone, Mr Outa claimed he eventually visited State House though the PC’s office vehemently denied the claims.

"I was given permission by the caretakers and I entered," he said.
