The Eve Sisters' experience

By NJOKI KARUOYA

The Eve Sisters is an initiative sponsored by The Standard Group to provide an opportunity for women to meet with its star female writers and anchors, accompanied by Kenya’s top women role models, most of who have been profiled on KTN and in magazines published by The Standard Group.

The forums thus provide the opportunity for readers to interact directly with these role models and listen to words of wisdom relating to specific aspects of life. In the past, The Eve Sisters forums have hosted presentations by Resolution Health CEO Peter Nduati, Keroche Industries CEO Tabitha Karanja, Mavuno Church’s Pastor Linda Ochola, nominated MP Rachel Shebesh, motivational speaker Pepe Minambo, Coca Cola’s Communications and Public Relations Manager Stella Kiguta-Nganga, Exp Kenya Country Manager Patricia Mbatia, Radio Africa’s Group Marketing Manager Caroline Mutoko, and Dr Brigid Monda among others.

From The Standard Group, participants have had the opportunity to interact with my core partners who include KTN’s Anne Kiguta, Anne Ngugi, Mwanaisha Chidzuga, Isabella Kituri and Edith Kimani; Radio Maisha’s Esther Ingolo and Mwende Macharia; and Dorcas Odumbe, Njoki Chege, Zipporah Musau, and Naliaka Wafula from The Standard newspapers.

The forums have gained popularity with women from all over the country demanding for sessions to be hosted in their region. Thus far, they are conducted under four unique programmes, the Women’s edition, held once a month at Hilton Hotel, Campus edition, also held monthly at different campuses around the country, High School edition, held monthly at different high schools around the country and County edition targets women outside Nairobi.

Eve Sisters fulfils me. It is transformational because I learn so much. I’m always humbled when, as I organise the sessions, the sisters embrace the programme wholeheartedly, as do our guests; or when I meet people who are eager to join the programme. I believe that the Eve Sisters experience is my purpose.
