University of Nairobi women's basketball team Dynamites will be aiming to catch up with leaders Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and Storms when they resume their Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League action against Kisumu Lady Bucks today.

Dynamites, who are eighth on the log with nine points have played five games less than the leading teams and a win over the Kisumu side today and another against Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Lynx will see them move third.

KPA, who are fresh from their second place finish at the FIBA Zone V Championship in Tanzania, lead the log with 18 points from nine wins followed by Storms who have 16 points from 10 matches played.

Speaking ahead of the match, Dynamites head coach Juma Kent believes they still have time to narrow the gap on the league leaders.

Kent said they have worked on their early season mistakes that saw them lose to champions KPA and they are now more ready to win more games. Dynamites have lost only one match and won four of their five matches played.

"It has been weeks of rest for us and it would be fair to capitalise on that by winning our weekend matches. We have started the season well because to win four out of five is no mean feat and now we have to build on that this weekend," said Kent, who wants the team to improve on last season's fourth place finish.

"We are playing against Lady Bucks who despite their position in the league are still a good side. We are not going to underrate anyone because we have to win to catch up with the early leaders."

Lady Bucks are joint bottom on seven points, same as Kenyatta University Oryx who play third placed Zetech Sparks tomorrow.

In the men's Premier League, Equity Dumas who moved third on the log last week with 18 points will be out to move top of the standings with a win over Strathmore University Blades at 4pm.
