RVM&SC Karting returns to Soilai on Sunday

It is all systems go as the RVM&SC Karting Championship 2011 – round two gets underway at Solai racetrack Nakuru, on Sunday.

As preparations take shape, Young Kush Gohil is enthusiastic of joining the Karting fraternity and will be racing in the 50cc class.

The 50cc class has attracted the likes of Saimbi siblings Prabjote and Satjote, Damon Oosterik and Amani Nzomo, Thomas Gitau and Ffion Trundell.

Prabjote hopes to extend his lead in the series which he leads with 54 points.

Jason Oosterik and Ryan Bailey will be going for top honours in the 60cc class. The two anticipate a stiff challenge from the likes of Guennadi Khoda and Antarjot Saimbi and Jadini Nzomo.

The new Junior Rotax class promises some exciting moments and the battle for supremacy is between Tushal Mavji and Tejus Hirani who was recently in the United Arab Emirates for the karting series.

Other contenders in the Junior Rotax class are Azaad Manji, Sameer Nanji, Sofia Hansen, Rafe Trundell, Jeremy Wahome and Harkamal Singh.

The Rob’s Majic team of Dilip Dinesh, Chirag Soni and Bhavik Soni will renew their rivalry at the KF2 class.

Dilip has been the fastest driver in the class over the past two years setting some impressive course records and shattering them on some occasions.

The KF2 class should produce thrills and spills as the Sonis-Bhavik and Chirag will fight to ensure Dilip does not eclipse them this time round.

Meanwhile, signing on will take place at the Solai asphalt track on Saturday from 11am. According to regulations, practice will only be allowed from 10am – 17pm on Saturday.

Sunday’s race day programme starts with scrutineering from 8am - 09am. Drivers’ briefing will be done at 9:15am, followed by official practice from 9:30am– 10:30am and official racing at 10:45am.
