Curtains will come down on the 2010 National Motocross Championship at Jamhuri Park racetrack on Sunday with all riders hoping to improve on their final standing on the table.

Yamaha 450 four-stroke go-getter Shivam Vinayak has already won the MX1 Championship and will be looking forward to improve his points tally at Jamhuri Park on Sunday.

The battle for supremacy at MX2 will revolve around cousins Tutu Maina and Cruze Muigai also against the likes of Ken Anunda. Adil Khan, Allan Maina and JJ Kahumbura will also be fighting for honours at MX2 class.

Maina has won two rounds (fifth and sixth) with Muigai winning five rounds. Samir Anwar is set to wrap up the MX65 class in awesome fashion, being the only rider so far with a flawless points score.

Fighting against Anwar’s 100 per cent score are his siblings Mohammed Anwar, Githuku Mungai, Jeremy Waithaka and Murigu Njiiri.

Ivan Guya hopes to uphold his winning ways at his MX85 specialty and the faster he does it, the better for him.

This will be Guya’s second last race before graduating to the MX2 class next year. Guya will also be at Garuga racetrack in Kampala to defend his AMU Central Africa title.

Guya will fight to eclipse fast rising Apollo Mbuki, Karan Sehmi, Ted Wanday and Masalule Kituyi. Also riding in the MX85 class are the likes of Charles King’angi, Muthandi Wanjigi, Walter Kuria and Rohan Gandhi.

The MX50 class also promises thrills and frills with David Murigi and Rolf Kihara and Ryan Bailey going head to head.

There has been quite a good fight pitting Rolf against Murigi with the former winning the last two meetings at Jamhuri. It will be interesting to see how the battle unfolds this Sunday with Rolf vowing more upsets.

The MX50 cc class has attracted the likes of Maina Wanjigi, George Kyriazi, Tendo Karago, Benni Kahumbura and Jesse Waithaka.

Kihara won the belated round three in September and a repeat performance during the Central Africa AMU in Nairobi.
