Kenya should not ignore the threat of MERS in the country
The recent outbreak of Middle east respiratory syndrome in Korea should raise concern in Kenya. The disease has no vaccine and cure. It is thought to be passed on to humans from camels and thereafter spreads from human to human. Recent studies in Kenya show that camels have been infected by the virus causing the disease. Measures need to be taken to ensure vigilance in the country towards the disease.
