Triple-decker beds rolled out to decongest prisons

If a new initiative unveiled on Sunday at Nairobi West Maximum Prison is successfully implemented, inmates will no longer be forced to sleep on cold, overcrowded floors.

The programme, dubbed the Triple-Decker Bed Campaign, led by the government and supported by well-wishers, seeks to provide a bed for every inmate in the country in a bid to decongest prisons and restore dignity to inmates.
