Two-time Nyanza Regional basketball champions Onjiko High School will renew their rivalry with Maseno School as the 2024 Kisumu County Secondary School Term One games tip off on Thursday.

Onjiko who are also the Kisumu County defending champions are gearing up for what is being dubbed as the "clash of titans" against Maseno School in Group A, also known as the "group of death" due to the inclusion of former heavyweights Kisumu Boys and Kasagam.

This high-stakes matchup is expected to ignite the basketball tournament, setting the tone for an electrifying competition.

“The Kisumu County Secondary School games are more than just a platform for young athletes to compete; they serve as a nurturing ground for the next generation of sports talent in Kenya.

“With the games kicking off in a matter of days, teams are putting the final touches on their preparations, hoping to make a mark in this year's edition,” affirmed Kisumu County Secondary School Sports Association (KCSSSA) Secretary George Osura.

The battles on the hockey pitches and basketball courts, among other venues, will not just be about winning titles but also about fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence.

Fans and sports enthusiasts are in for a treat as the young athletes of Kisumu County ready themselves to dazzle and inspire with their skills and determination.
