Police in Baringo are investigating the KCSE invigilator found in illegal possession of Business Paper 1 at Ruth Kiptui High School.

The investigations commenced following the arrest of Sarah Ruto, on Tuesday afternoon after the learners had completed exams.

According to authorities, the arrest was made following intelligence reports of exam leakage at the centre.

Baringo North Sub County Police Commander Fredrick Odinga said they received a report of exam malpractice at the school

Odinga revealed that the OCS, DCIO and other police officers went to the school and frisked the invigilators, supervisors and learners after they finished Business Paper 1.

In the process, they found the suspect with the alleged materials.

"We were acting on a tip after receiving intelligence on the same. Our officers found one invigilator with written materials, and she was arrested for further investigations," he said.

According to the police report, the suspect claimed that the materials were allegedly confiscated from some students.

The police said the invigilator failed to raise the concerns with her supervisor or even hand over the materials until the discovery.

The invigilator is said to have hidden the materials in her pocket.

However, the supervisors at the center are under investigation for alleged conspiracy, with authorities seeking to establish their whereabouts when the alleged materials were seized as per the exam regulations.

The suspect was released on a police bond of Sh10,000 and will be arraigned in court on November 28.
