Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and county assembly Speaker Joel Karuri have challenged court orders that stopped the vetting of 21 County Chief Officer nominees.

The orders were issued on November 11 and 14 by Justice David Nderitu of the Employment and Labour Relations Court, following petitions by Stephen Oduor and Kenneth Odongo.

The two sued Ms Kihika, Mr Karuri, the assembly and Clerk, Attorney General, Nakuru County Public Service Board and county government.

Kihika's lawyer Munene Muiyuro argued that the court has no jurisdiction to hear and determine the petitions.
