A construction truck that was stolen on Saturday has been recovered in Marsabit.

The lorry belonging to a Chinese firm was being used in a project on the Northern Water Collectors Tunnel (NWCT) in Kangema, Murang’a County before it went missing.

Its driver is among three suspects who have been arrested in connection with the theft.

Kangema Deputy County Commissioner, Patrick Muli, said the truck was tracked down and intercepted at the Logo Logo barrier.

The driver, according to the police, was on shift when the truck was stolen on April 1.

He was briefly detained at Laisamis Police Station and transferred to Kangema on Monday evening.

“The truck was intercepted on April 2 at a security barrier while destined for Marsabit. The driver could not explain his business in Northern Kenya,” said Muli.

The suspects will be arraigned before the Kangema Law Courts once police complete their probe.
