The job market is a cutthroat environment that can leave you feeling discouraged. Many of us grew up knowing that all we needed to do was work hard in school, pass our exams, join university and a job would quickly follow. The reality is completely different. Getting your foot in the door can take years, thousands of resumes and countless unanswered emails, phone calls and pitches, not to mention the required work experience that all recruiters seem to require.

Nevertheless, in this digital age, it’s easier to stand out from the crowd, setting yourself apart and get noticed professionally even when you don’t have traditional work experience.
