The clerics, led by Pastor Robert Mbugua of PCEA church, asked police to investigate the matter and arrest the culprits.

“We are hopeful that the CCTV cameras on the roads will provide crucial information that will lead to the arrest of the people involved,” Mbugua said.

“We are open to work with well-wishers who wish to donate anything to deserving people; we did welcome the good gesture of our MP Kimani Ichung'wa and the Deputy President to supplement the efforts of the church to donate food,” Mbugua added.

They announced that they have an organised way of giving food donations where contacts of recipients are taken. The clerics disclosed that PCEA is using Christian group elders to identify the needy irrespective of their faith.

Pastor John Mbugua of the Akorino church said the toxic food was intended to soil the name of DP William Ruto and Mr Ichung'wa.
