11 held in EACC swoop over Covid-19 hospital

EACC investigating expenditure on a hospital complex that has been in construction since 2017

Kilifi County Secretary Arnold Mkare and 10 other senior officials were on Wednesday arrested over the construction of the recently launched multi-million shilling Covid-19 building.

They were freed after interrogation by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) agents who are investigating expenditure on the Sh850 million Kilifi Medical Complex Hospital. It has been under construction since 2017 and was recently converted into a Covid-19 isolation centre.
