Bongo Flava singer Ali Saleh Kiba popularly known as Alikiba has commented on the exit of two of his signees Cheed and Killy from his label Kings Music Records.

Speaking on their exit, Kings Music Records boss Alikiba said that the two had informed him of their intentions of leaving the label, and he gave them his blessings.

“Walinifuata jana usiku saa 8 kasoro, wakaniambia walichotaka, nikawaambia kila la kheri. Saa 10 wakapost kwamba wamejiondoa kwenye Label,” he said.

He went on to say King Music was like a school and all the investment he put in their [Cheed and Killy] careers was to help them as his young brothers, and that is why he never had them sign contracts.

Kiba added that he sees it as his way of giving back to society.

On Tuesday April 14, both Cheed and Killy put up similar posts announcing their exit from King Music over what they termed as protecting their music career.

The two stated that they made the decision to part ways with the Alikiba owned label without being influenced by somebody else.

He went ahead to thank Alikiba for supporting his craft for the past one year, since being introduced as his signee.

Cheed and Killy were among the five musicians signed under Alikiba’s record label barely a year ago.

This comes a time when their rivals WCB Wasafi and Konde Music Worldwide have both signed new artistes; Zuchu (WCB), Ibraah (Konde Music).
