Vapor defeated Excavators 1-0 in the finals and crowned the champions of the seventh edition of the Dagoret North National Government-CDF tournament played at Kawangware Primary School over the weekend.

The winners of the tourney received Sh20000 as the runners up getting Sh15000 and third-placed Buffalo who edged out Costa Rica 3-2 in the third-place playoff getting Sh10000.

Every contesting team including Kimachi FC, Samba boys FC, Kabiru Youth FC, Waruku FC, Wayside FC and City Landers FC received two balls and official jerseys.

Speaking after the games, MP Anthony Oluoch of Mathare Constituency promised to work with other like-minded leaders and people in the county to promote and change the lives of the young to the better through talent search.

“Today’s theme is ‘Madawa na Crime Si Poa’ and for our children and the youths to be safe, we have to involve them in activities like playing football among other activities. It’s these activities that make them busy and engaged so that they avoid being influenced into drugs when they are idle,” he said.

The area MP, Dagoreti North Constituency Simba Arati also promised he will liaise with FKF and other stakeholders to facilitate the process of moving and including two teams that will represent the constituency in the league.

“Betting firms invest heavily outside Kenya and that is why they should rethink how they are going to operate in the Country in Kenya,” Said Simba Arati.
