Mothers’s Day comes early for new mums at Pumwani

Mothers at Pumwani Maternity Hospital received goodies from Unilever Company ahead of Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Mothers’ Day is a celebration that honours mothers for their contribution to society.

It is held yearly every second Sunday of May in most countries.

More than 40 other countries worldwide observe Mother’s Day, including France, China, UK, Mexico and Thailand.

As a way of appreciating mothers across the country, OMO, through its ‘Mikono Ya Mama’ campaign, awarded mothers at Pumwani Hospital.

OMO believes the gifts will be instrumental for the mothers as they begin the journey.

The mothers received washing detergent, soap, towels and Vaseline Baby Jelly.

Stella Atumbua gave birth a day ago. She praised OMO for remembering mothers.

Doreen Barasa, a mother of twins, said, “I am happy and would like to encourage other mothers to use OMO because it’s good for the hands.”

Purity Samson added, “I am happy because this is my preferred washing detergent and getting such a big pack for free feels very good.”

Pumwani Maternity Hospital administrator Geoffrey Mosiria welcomed the campaign, saying it will go a long way into showing how mothers are appreciated not only in Kenya but the world over.

“Thanks to the OMO team for coming to gift our news mothers. This is a very kind gesture to gift our mothers.”
