A man has been jailed for eight years after pleading guilty to murdering a tycoon in Malindi town last year.

Ngira Karisa Charo, 31, who had entered a plea bargain to testify against his two accomplices, narrated to the court after his sentencing, how the victim was strangled in a speeding car.

Mr Charo told Justice Erick Ogola how the businessman, Isaac Jorow, was lured to his death after being kidnapped in Nyali, before being driven to Lango Baya in Malindi.

Charo’s two accomplices are Eddlied Mandi Jilani and Ruwa Buno. They have denied killing Mr Jorow.

“Jorow was told by EddLied Mandi Jilani to join us in a hired vehicle which was being driven by Ruwa Buni. We were travelling to Malindi,” said Charo.

He narrated how they used a rope to strangle Jorow. He said Jilani was the mastermind of the murder plot.

“Jilani approached me with a murder plan three times. I only came to know its Jorow on the day of the murder,” said Charo.
