Police have arrested a man they claimed was linked to a series of armed robberies and murders in Kisauni.
Police said the 50-year-old suspect was nabbed in a rental house at Kwabulo area on Sunday evening.
A gun and bullets were recovered from him.
Kisauni Police Chief Sangura Msee told The Standard yesterday that the man was arrested at about 7pm.
A team of 15 officers, acting on intelligence, raided the house.
He said a Glock with 18 rounds of ammunition, more than 10 wrist watches and 14 cellphones were recovered.
The gun was loaded with 14 bullets while the other four were wrapped in a polythene bag.
"We also recovered masks, clothes, bed sheets and other items," said Mr Msee.
Sources said the gun was believed to have been used in a series of robberies and killings in Kisauni.
"When we received information we formed a multi-agency team, which did a successful job. We want to thank the public for volunteering the information," said Msee.
